The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) is a professional body and registered charity working to promote excellence in surgical training for the benefit of junior doctors and patients alike.
The association is the second largest surgical specialty association in the UK with over 2,700 surgical trainees from all 10 surgical specialities. ASiT is the only body in the UK to represent trainees at both Core and Higher Surgical Training levels, the association provides support at both regional and national levels throughout the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
Originally founded in 1976, ASiT is independent of the National Health Service (NHS), Surgical Royal Colleges, and speciality associations. Governed by an elected executive and council, the association is run by trainees for trainees. The association was originally established in 1976 as a forum for senior registrars to meet and discuss surgical training matters. ASiT holds a major conference for its members each year, acting as an important event to debate surgical training and also offer an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers to meet and discuss their services with ASiT members. ASiT now counts numerous professional leaders and Royal College Presidents amongst its alumni.
The ASiT Yearbook, being the main official publication produced by the association and an important membership benefit, is an excellent resource for all trainees; collating the happenings of the year into a highly valued and informative document. The ASiT Yearbook provides members with an engaging publication, which includes a broad range of in-depth features, articles and content geared towards the interests of trainee surgeons and provides up to date careers advice. With this important publication being distributed to all 2,700 members of ASiT, its extended life and its invaluable content makes it an ideal publication to put across your message to the surgical professionals of the future. The ASiT Yearbook, an A4 publication, produced to high production values, generally running to in excess of 128 pages, is produced in hard copy and digital formats. The 2015 issue of the ASiT Yearbook will be launched to coincide with the ASiT Conference to be held in Glasgow from 27 February to 1 March.
The ASiT Yearbook is an important link between the association and its 2,700 members in the UK and Republic of Ireland, raising interaction and offering guidance. It offers advertisers an excellent marketing opportunity to support the ongoing work of ASiT, plus to promote your products and services to an important captive audience of surgical trainees during the early years of their careers.
If your company wishes to inform, influence and raise the profile of your surgical products/equipment, technology and training aids, plus help promote the highest standards of surgical education, then the ASiT Yearbook will offer an excellent vehicle to achieve your organisations marketing objectives.
